Searching For Treasure

Have you ever heard of geocaching?  I love it!  You get coordinates off the internet that takes you to a location where someone placed a bunch of small trinkets in an amo box.  I love the adventure of it, the thrill of finding a "treasure", and they always are hidden in these beautiful parks.  If I told you a box existed, buried, somehwere in the U.S., with real tresure in it.  If you knew the treasure equaled at least 1 million, what would you do?

I have a feeling you and me and hundreds of thousands of people would be searching and doing whatever it took to find this treasure.  If you found it, who cares if you sold everything to go buy the field because the treasure, in comparrison to your material things, didn't compare at all.  The bible talks about just this.

Matthew 13:44
The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.

I love how he 'went in his joy'.  Sadness didn't cross his mind because he focused on the treasure not his material things.  A question for you...what is the kingdom of heaven?

Something that I want to be true of my life...that my life of serving God would be a life of joy and not drudgery.

Mark 10:29-30

I tell you the truth," Jesus replied, "no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age (homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—and with them, persecutions) and in the age to come, eternal life.

What joy!  A life serving God will turn out to be so much more blessed and exciting and rewarded beyond what we can comprehend.
